Win an iPod Touch (16GB)
You could, serious. The only thing you have to do is write about the contest, held at Rock & Roll Solo dot com. The winner will be selected at random on November 12. There aren’t many entries, so your chance of winning is really high. I highly doubt there won’t be any other contestants, but I don’t care. An iPod Touch is a really nice gadget, especially when it’s free
The contest is started by Bernard March, owner of Rock & Roll Solo. I think Bernard’s dream is to be a real Rock & Roll hero! On his blog you can find several guitar, drum and bass solos. The videos are really worth listening.
So, only thing to do is write something about Bernard’s blog and about the iPod contest. Go ahead and give it a swing!
Adsense Ban
Since I published my monthly Adsense earnings here, I thought it would be a good thing to let you know I got banned by Adsense. I made websites for one purpose: to make money (Made for Adsense) and since the Adsense guidelines are against Made for Adsense sites, I got myself a ban. The last ten days of my Adsense career, I made $1.100 out of my MFA sites. Unfortunately it didn’t last forever. I didn’t have other income sources, so I start with zero.
Here is a screenshot of my Adsense earnings in July 2007:
Daily Burger Goals
Since I haven’t blogged for some time now, I thought it would nice to publish a new post. I really forgot about Daily Burger and focused on my Dutch blog. My Dutch blog is doing really well, and I hope it will continue to grow. This blog, however, keeps attracting visitors and there are still some people subscribed to my RSS-feed. I really don’t know what you guys are doing here, but I don’t really mind! If you still subscribed here for some Adsense tips you did the right thing. This month I will publish some nice Adsense tips, to make more money instantly. I also will blog more often, because my English is really lacking at this point. I want to keep on blogging to increase my English and to make some more money of course
Goals for Daily Burger
Short term goals
I have some goals for October, which I will share with you.
- I want to increase the number of subscribers to 20 (not that hard, I think)
- I want to get accepted for a number of programs that will make me money with this blog.
- I want to publish 10 posts in October
- I want to make $10,00 with this blog
Longterm goals
These longterm goals are not really longterm, but I think they will do. Before December 31, 2007:
- I want to have at least 200 subscribers
- I want to make at least $500/month with this blog
- I want to finish my beginners guide
I don’t really know if I will be able to meet these goals, but I think they are reasonable. More posts coming up later..
Adsense Notifier
Most webmasters use Firefox when surfing the Internet. Firefox is a really good browser, because it let’s you install different themes and add-ons. Themes make Firefox look pretty and add-ons will help you saving valuable time. The best add-on I have ever downloaded for Firefox is the Adsense Notifier.
Adsense Notifier
This add-on will show your Adsense earnings for the day in the statusbar. Think of the valuable time you will spare not pushing the F5 button repeatedly when logged in to your Google Adsense account. The install is simple, just like any other add-on. Visit this link, click the install button, follow the instructions and you are done.
With a successful install, you will see your Adsense earnings in the statusbar. You can edit the add-on, so it shows you the earnings of today, the last seven days, the last month or even the last year.
It saves you a lot of time.
PageRank does matter
Many bloggers tell you that PageRank isn’t important. Your position in the SERPs is determined by relevant incoming links, with a correct anchor text. PageRank is dead, and it doesn’t help you rank anymore. In fact, some self proclaimed SEO’s tell you that the whole PageRank idea is not important for anything anymore.
“Focus on content, not on PageRank” and “content is king“, are some pristine statements that make me cry, because you should focus on both sides.
Why PageRank is important
In terms of ranking
A king can’t live without his queen, and content can’t live without PageRank.
PageRank and content should go hand in hand. Without content, PageRank is useless, and vice versa. The combination does the trick in the Google SERPs. So, write valuable and linkworthy content, and you will see your site gain spots in the SERPs. I have never seen sites rank for fairly competitive phrases with only content, and no incoming links. In fact, I have never seen such a site in the first place in Google.
In terms of making money
If you still are a firm believer that PageRank is not important, I suggest you check out some of the websites listed below:
* Text link ads: selling links for a minimum of $10.00 a month
* Review Me: $20-$200 for each completed review
* Sponsored Review: same idea as Review Me
* Pay Per Post: write about stuff and get paid.
The amount of money that you will receive, largely depends on your PAGERANK!
Next to this list there are some marketplaces where you can get in direct contact with bloggers/companies so you don’t have to pay transaction fees. Digital Point is such an example.
So, PageRank is important, for ranking and making money
* Note: I don’t like affiliate links on my website.
